The classroom is a place where many people stay together in a small space for long periods of time. An ideal location for the spread of the virus. Fortunately, there are measures that can be taken to minimize the risk of infection.

Researchers at the University of Stuttgart have taken on the topic, compared various measures and published a study on it. The most effective method to prevent from an infection with the coronavirus remains the FFP2 mask, which protects the wearer, but also the other people in the room. Furthermore, it is very important to ventilate the room regularly. This is the only way to lower the virus load in the room and minimize the risk of infection. There is a simple general rule: teach for 20 minutes, ventilate for 5 minutes, and so on. This allows a thorough and regular air exchange.

If wearing a mask is not possible or intended and adequate ventilation is not possible either, further measures must be taken. Air purifiers can efficiently filter the viruses out of the air. It is important that such a mobile air purifier is regularly serviced, and the filters are replaced as recommended by the manufacturer. Furthermore, the device must be designed for the size of the room, so that sufficient air purification can take place.

It is most effective to combine all three measures, so that the risk of infection can be reduced as much as possible, and the children and teachers can participate class without any second thoughts.
